We feel blessed to be called to the profession of midwifery. It is truly an honor and privilege to assist women/couples in this most powerful event in their lives. We practice out of a desire to serve birthing women, to act as a guardian of the normal process of birth and to help facilitate women’s transformation in the process. Closeness, confidence, and trust, established during the pregnancy, help a woman through labor and birth. A connection of the heart is established that goes beyond a simple business relationship.

When seen in this context, the subject of money becomes awkward. Yet we cannot survive or continue to offer our services if we are not supported by the community that employs us. Our primary goal is to offer a comprehensive, affordable alternative to institutional maternity care. On average nationwide, homebirth care costs 40% less than the OB clinic and hospital care, and more time is spent face-to-face with the client throughout pregnancy, birth and the post-partum period. We work with insured and uninsured women.

Midwives of Kansas City Services homebirth package fee is $3,200.00, which includes regular prenatal visits, labor, birth, birth supplies and immediate postpartum nursing care for mom and baby, postpartum nursing visits at 2 days, 2 weeks, and 6 weeks, TENs unit, water birth tub and liner. The fee does not include Lab work and sonograms (billed through your insurance) and Newborn screenings or other tests required by state law (done by your pediatrician).

Payments can be spread out throughout the pregnancy and can be taken by personal check, all credit cards, FSA/HSA’s, and PayPal.
